Snowy weather hurts retailers? It can’t be helping.

Winter at my house

True to my resolution this year, I’m keeping a positive attitude toward the snow, wind, and cold, which I can’t do anything about anyway.

I’m sure retailers and travelers can’t find much good in the storms over the past few days. Retailers whose revenue was already down will experience depressed sales because many people will think twice before venturing out in the ice and snow.

We all know that traveling has been a nightmare for the past few days. Flights were cancelled and re-booking is nearly non-existent since the airlines decided to cut flights and cram the airplanes. Many, many families and friends will be apart this holiday season.

This is one more bout of bad luck for the US economy. But let’s try to think positively anyway.

[2026 Note: Oh, the good old days of shopping in a store.]
