Little Laramie River from my cabin door

I’m at the writers’ retreat in Wyoming. This place is quite amazing. My room is outstanding. It’s about 15 feet from a river! I’ll eventually post pictures, but the Internet connection here is slow, so I’ll only be able to do a couple. If you can get on FaceBook, I’ll try to put some there, too.

There’s no cell service here, but if I hop in the car and drive a mile, I can call people.

I’m lucky I got here on time because shortly after I got off I-80, a huge storm hit, which delayed some of the attendees. Apparently it rained, hailed, and flooded part of the road. There was also an accident, which backed up traffic for miles.

We met our horses today and even got to ride them a little. We actually had to ford a four-foot deep stream. Real immersion into horseback riding. Pun intended. My horse’s name is Lollipop. I assumed he was a female, but he’s male. Who would name a boy Lollipop?

Since we’re at around 7,000 feet above sea level, some of us are feeling a bit light-headed. I’m headed off to bed and will write more tomorrow!
