7 Things for Grown Ups to Know About Orlando’s I-Ride Trolley

As an adult who recently visited Orlando without children and busied herself while her spouse was in his conference sessions, I thought I’d share some helpful/interesting facts about the I-Ride Trolley, which can get you anywhere you want to go around International Drive. Here they are:

1. The trolley travels north and south on International Drive with slight deviations along the way.

2. The I-Ride is priced pretty reasonably, if you opt for the all-day rate of $5.

3. The I-Ride is handicap accessible.

4. The I-Ride Web site makes it super easy to plan your activities, and there’s a mobile app, too, www.idrive2go.mobi. So while you’re on the trolley or waiting for it, you can adjust your plans and see what stops you should use to get where you want to be. There’s also a link you can use to see when the next trolley is coming to any given stop.

5. At the I-Ride’s stop #1, you’ll find Orlando International Premium Outlets. This is a pretty good outdoor mall with plenty of merchants to choose from, including Banana Republic, Kate Spade, and Neiman Marcus. Be sure to pick up an I-Ride map on the trolley, because there’s a coupon inside to get a VIP coupon book for the Outlets. You can redeem the coupon at the information office. You can get the same book by presenting a AAA card. The very last stop at the route’s opposite end is another Premium outlet mall.

6. If you like attractions, some notables along the trolley route are: Titanic – The Artifact Exhibition, WonderWorks (an upside-down amusement park for the mind), and CSI: The Experience, where you can use your skills to solve a make-believe crime.

7. Dining, Drinking, Dancing – Probably the most prevalent establishments you’ll find along the I-Ride Route are eateries. Some of the ones worth mentioning are B.B. King’s Blues Club, Miller’s Orlando Ale House, and the Funky Monkey Wine Company.
